Although not far off the noisy main road, a strip of grassy horse-paddock gives the impression of a real country escape. The B&B's creation was a real family effort. Ann, the eponymous owner was the building's architect. Her husband painted the various art-canvases, and her father sculpted the curious stone torsos around the pond. The two stylish guest rooms occupy a self-contained building whose highlight is a little sauna. The rooms share an appealing sitting room and dining area: twist the little antler-handle in the chimney-breast to open the flue. The always-hot outdoor Jacuzzi in the garden is especially appealing in the moonlight on a snowy winter's night. By car, take the R4 northbound from Brussels before reaching the main Ghent exit. Exit the R4 on the N445, not the E17. After the slip road doubles back, turn right beneath the motorway and Anns Hof is 200m ahead on the left.
