Gerrit Franssen and Dorine Degrande, the owners and inhabitants, discuss Bruges By Night:
“We are also fervent travellers and greatly enjoy getting to know a city and its inhabitants in a more personal manner. Travelling also means new friends, experiences and cultural sharing; not simply a limited one way exchange. The concept of a bed & breakfast lends itself perfectly as an unrestrained and informal meeting place for people with diverse nationalities, cultures and social backgrounds.”
“Perhaps you should not have any expectations in Brugge for a fast paced nightlife such as in other bigger cities, but everything is here, just on a smaller scale. Brugge is by far the most charming during a walk along the canals in the light of night. The time when the majority of the tourists sit in their hotel rooms tired after a day of wandering, is actually the best time to experience the true spirit of the city. Brugge has many good restaurant and taverns. Experience the cafés and restaurants that the people of Bruges (the ‘Bruggelingen’) frequent. Bruges By Night will give you the tips and you may take it from there.”

• By Train: When you arrive in the Brugge train station, go directly to the front of the station and take either a private taxi or a city bus. If riding by bus: Take bus route 4 or 14 (1 euro per one way ticket). Ask the bus driver to stop at the Long Canal (Langerei) and have the driver let you off at the ‘Snaggaardbrug\' bus stop. From there it is a short three minute walk as you continue further in the direction of the bus route. The first street on your left will be the Annunciation Street (Annuntiatenstraat). After roughly 60 meters on the left side of the street at house number 86, you will reach your destination: Bruges By Night.
• By Car: Once you are on the city ring of Brugge, then it will be easiest to reach Bruges By Night via de ‘Dampoort’, which is a city gate situated in the northern part of the city. At the ‘Dampoort’ there are two bridges: you can take the bridge that heads into the city and links directly to the ‘Sasplein’ which is a very small square. At this junction, you will pass the Bistro ‘Du Phare’ on your left hand side. Follow along the canal 200 meters further, until you arrive in the street called ‘Langerei’. Turn right into the street called ‘Annuntiatenstraat’. You are at your destination.
• Parking: within the entire city parking is governed by a “blue zone”. This means that free parking is allowed for up to 4 hours, from Monday to Saturday between 09:00 and 19:00. (A blue parking card indicating your time of arrival is required!). We will gladly loan you such a blue parking card, but we ask that you provide a deposit of 2 euro in advance. When you return the card, we will return your deposit. We can also reserve a parking place for you (accessible 24hrs a day) for 10 euro (from check-in to check-out).
• Tourist information available on arrival (city map, adresses of restaurants, cafés, etc.)
• Free bikes rental (from check-in to check out). Information and maps with cycle tours inside and outside Bruges are available |
