La Maison de Maître is a small luxuary hotel in Arbrefontaine, a small village in the Belgian Ardennes at 400m (1200ft) altitude. Completely reconstructed to meet modern standards, you still find here the atmosphere of an original house built around the 1900's, where guests meet, and from where you can explore the beautiful Ardennes.
Upon reservation and at fixed hours, our cook Guy prepares for you 4 course meals, with a regional and personal touch.
The spacious and tastefully decorated rooms carry the names of French writers of the early 1900's. The rooms and the lovely garden will invite you to stay and be inspired.
Time seems to have been kept to a halt in the valley of the stream named Lienne, which meanders to the Amblève. In the other direction, the woods on Mont de Hodinfosse (560m, 1700ft) challenge you to be explored. It makes our hotel the ideal starting point for hiking, mountain bike trips and horse riding. We will be glad to advise you on your activities. Only a bit further away are activities like kayaking, golf, watching the (F1) races in Francorchamps, or shopping in Luxembourg. |

All of the 11 stylish rooms have their own atmosphere and specialty, either a period bath tube (there is always a separate shower), a double shower, a French balcony, or a nice sofa. Our website www.lamaisondemaitre.com gives pictures and a description of each individual room. |

Please make a reservation to join the 4-course diner at 19.30 for € 30 per person.
Our cook Guy Luystermans prepares the dishes with a regional and personal touch.
In case there are ingredients you prefer not to be served, please inform us at the time of reservation.
In addition to our standard wine list, he always makes a proposition of selected wines to accompany the diner for €15 p.p.
All meals are served in one of the stylish rooms of La Maison de Maître. |

The area gives plenty of opportunities to explore the high Ardennes. We have tips for hikes, Mountainbike routes, or excursions.
The valley of the small river Lienne offers idyllic streams, typical Ardenese villages, a meadow landscape with majestic free standing trees, and cows and horses of all types.
Higher up the hills, you find the woods and moorlands, and beautiful vistas of the valleys. Pay attention to the birds of prey. Apart from the more common buzzards and kestrels, recent years we saw also plenty of red kites with their beautiful agile flight. Every season gives its own accents and charm to the landscape. Due to the average altitude of 400m (1200 ft) summers are wonderfully cool and the winters give more chance of good snow. The air is bright and clean here. |

There are 5 rooms of €110, 5 of €120, and one room of €90 for 2 persons including breakfast and taxes, minimum stay of 2 nights. For a stay of just one night we charge an additional €10 per room per night, for single occupancy we give a reduction of €10 per room per night. |
